Academic Enrichment
Our enrichment programme takes pupils out of the classroom and into the institutions, museums and arenas where their subjects come alive.
At Michaela, we always say students need to develop:
Passion for the subject
Knowledge of the subject
Engagement with the subject
We regularly host speakers from the world of politics, liberal arts, finance, law, medicine and academia.
This is where students can learn from people at the top of their fields.
Recent speakers include Jeremy Hunt MP, former Chancellor of the Exchequer; Dr Donald Ward, biologist at the University of Manchester; and Will Stratton-Morris, former CEO of Caffè Nero.
Every subject takes its pupils out into the world. Here are some of our trips for each of the different subjects we offer:
- Biology: Hunterian Museum and the Wellcome Trust
- Chemistry: The Royal Society
- Physics: Harrow Observatory
- Maths and Further Maths: national tournaments
- History: Westminster Abbey and the Order of St John Museum
- Geography: Whitstable and Westfield
- French: Paris and Northern France
- English: The Globe Theatre and Stratford-upon-Avon
- Politics: 10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, and the Cabinet Office
- Philosophy: the British Museum
- Psychology: The Freud Museum, Hampstead
- Economics: The Bank of England Museum and the Economist headquarters
